In our hectic lives, there are often few moments where we can slow down and take the time to appreciate the magic of our personal relationships. The milestones of our lives provide the opportunity to do so.
While we have kept some of the most time-honored rituals of these celebrations, the deeper, more personal meanings behind them are often obscured in today’s events.
My goal is to help each family, each couple, and each individual create a ceremony that expresses as much or as little tradition as desired, while also allowing the character of those involved to shine through.
Rev. Helene received her degree and ordination in Interfaith Studies from The New Seminary in 1991. Helene has performed hundreds of weddings and other ceremonies over the last 20 years and has helped hundreds of couples and families make their ceremonies the highlight of their special day. She takes pride in working to ensure that each ceremony is a personal reflection of the personalities, interests, and relationships of the people involved.Contact Helene
“When you start thinking about officiants, you don’t really realize how much work they put into a wedding. There’s sort of an assumption that they read the Official Wedding Script and you say “I Do” when you’re supposed to and then you’re married. I’m sure Helene could have made that happen if we’d asked her to, but the process started with an interview in which she developed an understanding of who we are, what we care about, and how we feel about each other- and then she developed a ceremony which distilled those elements into a perfect expression of our union. Helene’s superlative professionalism was matched only by her depth of knowledge with regard to both secular and religious tradition. She worked closely with us to create a service that honored- and managed to blend- our disparate perspectives on spirituality; and which reflected our shared commitment to forming an egalitarian marriage within a traditional ceremony framework. The result was an absolutely beautiful expression of our commitment and values.”
